What drivers licence do I require to hire vehicles?
You must hold a Valid UK Drivers Licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 penalty points in the last 5 years, and not been disqualified from driving in the last 5 years.
Drivers Licence categories required are:
3.5t LWB or Jumbo Panel Van: B1 LICENCE CATEGORY and between 21 and 70 years of age
Overseas drivers licences should be scanned and sent to us via helpdesk@coastalselfdrive.co.uk at least 7 days in advance of hire.
3.5t 13-15 Seater Minibus: D1 LICENCE CATEGORY, if you do not hold a D1 LICENCE CATEGORY are between 25 and 70 years of age and are driving on a social voluntary bases you may be entitled to drive a minibus.

What are your opening times?
Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm
Sat-Sun 8am to 10am (Sunday returns only)
What about fuel for the vehicle?
You take the vehicle nearly empty of fuel and return it the same way, we cannot refund you for excess fuel left in the tank on your return. All our vehicles are diesel.
What is the accident excess for damage caused by me to the hire vehicle or other people’s property?
There is a charge of £750 per incident.
What happens if my hire vehicle breaks down?
First of all don’t panic. All our vehicles are covered under AA Breakdown Recovery Service.
Call the emergency number at the top of your Vehicle Hire Agreement, we will take care of the rest.
Can I retrieve property left in the vehicle?
If we find anything, we will keep it for you to collect.
Can I park my own vehicle at your premises?
We do have secure premises with security cameras, you can park your vehicle here but just to stipulate you do so at your own risk,
We cannot and do not guarantee the security of your vehicle and/or its contents.
Are there any mileage restrictions?
There are no mileage restrictions only a charge of £10 per day for outside Northern Ireland.
